TEAMtalk reports that Rangers are ‘lining up’ a bid for Kilmarnock forward Eamonn Brophy.
It’s suggested that after the English window shut without the 23-year-old securing a move south of the border, Steven Gerrard is now keen on swooping.

Brophy started his youth career at Celtic, but made his professional breakthrough at Hamilton. After four years there punctuated by two loan spells, he joined Kilmarnock in 2017 and has since scored 18 goals in 59 league appearances [Soccerbase].
During 2018/19, he netted eleven times and registered two assists.
Rangers ‘lining up bid’ – is it believable?
Steven Gerrard recently admitted he was unsure whether or not he required a third senior striker in his squad [Scotsman].
Right now, he has Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, who are both in form. Promising teenager Zak Rudden is also available having just returned from injury, but he is yet to make his competitive debut.

In terms of goalscoring, things are looking rosy right now. Yet, if either El Bufalo or Defoe picked up an injury, things would suddenly look a lot barer.
Therefore, perhaps there’s merit in looking to Brophy. His stats show that he’s far from prolific, despite earning a maiden Scotland cap earlier this summer.
Rated at £450k by Transfermarkt, though, he may come relatively cheap and as a third option, he could bring something different to the table.

TEAMtalk actually reported way back in May that the Gers would move at some stage this summer and with this fresh report, they’re sticking to their guns.
Whether Brophy would give up a regular starting spot at Rugby Park for a place on the Ibrox bench remains to be seen, but after Killie’s early exit, potential Europa League football could provide the necessary temptation, if Gerrard’s interest is genuine.
