Rangers are said to be in pursuit of Orgryte defender Michael Parker following the arrival of Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta.
The Light Blues have signed a centre-back and right-back this summer, with Ross McCrorie also joining, but Derek McInnes is still keen on bolstering his defence.
With both Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius leaving, Rangers are short on options at centre-back.

Orgryte want £1.7m for Michael Parker
According to Fotbollskanalen, the Swedish club are demanding a fee in the region of £1.7m for the 21-year-old defender.
Having joined on a free transfer from West Brom in October, Orgryte are now looking to make a quick profit from his sale.
Rangers have been credited with an interest in Parker, but they are not the only club linked with the defender.

Arch rivals Celtic are also said to be keeping tabs, as they have had a quiet summer and are keen on getting their transfer business underway.
Apart from the two Glasgow sides, there is interest in the London-born defender from Sunderland, Newcastle, Brentford, Anderlecht, Udinese and Strasbourg.
Speaking about the interest in Parker, the club’s sporting director Pontus Farnerud said: “Yes, there is interest in Michael. He has a profile and possesses qualities that make him attract interest, but at the moment, all focus for both Michael and Öis is the match against Kalmar FF.”

How Derek McInnes can get the best out of Parker at Rangers
Parker has a tall frame, which helps him in aerial duels.
He is also good at clearing his lines and being a safety-first kind of defender.
McInnes undoubtedly wants more defenders like the Englishman as the Light Blues have struggled to see out leads and also defend set pieces well.
The 21-year-old is also left-footed and good with the ball at his feet, so he could be deployed alongside Emmanuel Fernandez and the club could build out from the back better.
Defensively, Parker would thrive in a mid-block, as his recovery pace and defensive prowess will shine.
He also has the ability to turn over possession quickly and help his side with counter-attacks
