Rangers are reportedly considering a summer transfer swoop for £3m-rated Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, according to Fotospor.

The Gers were linked with Osayi-Samuel ahead of the January transfer window when he was playing under former Gers boss Mark Warburton at QPR [Scottish Sun].

However, it was Fenerbahce who would win what was reportedly a race between as many as nine clubs for his signature.

The speedster initially signed a pre-contract agreement with the Turkish giants but a deal was soon struck for him to move early and he turned out 18 times in the Super Lig over the second half of the season.

He scored one goal in 3-0 win at Konyaspor in March but struggled to make a major impact and now Fotospor have suggested that FB president Ali Koç is looking to cash in on the Nigeria-born talent.

Their report asserts that Osayi-Samuel is rated at €3.5m (£3m) and that the Gers and Celtic have both shown interest, while negotiations have started with Monaco regarding a potential swap deal for Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru.

Given that the Gers were linked with the former QPR star just a few months ago, it makes sense that they would enter the fray again now with FB reportedly looking to cash in.

£3m isn’t a huge outlay for a 23-year-old with plenty of potential and it’s conceivable that Steven Gerrard would be looking to strengthen in wide areas.

A number of wingers like Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker and Glenn Middleton are returning from loan spells ahead of pre-season, but none of those players have fully convinced yet at Ibrox.

Osayi-Samuel would have Ryan Kent, Scott Wright and possibly the versatile Fashion Sakala to compete with if he headed to Glasgow, but the prospect of Champions League football may tempt him if a formal bid is eventually tabled.

In other news, a former Rangers fan favourite has officially signed for a Super Lig club.
