Rangers are exploring a season-long loan deal for Coventry City winger Jahnoah Markelo as manager Derek McInnes pushes to strengthen his attacking options before the Scottish Premiership kick-off.
According to breaking reports from Sky Sports reporters Sahil Jaidka and Anthony Joseph, talks have taken place regarding a temporary move to Ibrox for the 23-year-old Dutch-born winger.
Markelo was previously on Rangers‘ recruitment radar prior to his €5million (£4.3million) transfer from Swiss outfit FC Zurich to Coventry City back in January.
However, since joining Frank Lampard’s side, the wide man has found starting opportunities hard to come by, featuring just five times for the Sky Blues.

McInnes targets final squad additions at Rangers
The interest comes as McInnes confirms his desire to complete further business before Rangers travel to face Dundee United in Friday’s season opener.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday, the Rangers manager revealed he is hopeful of bringing in two additional signings to round out his squad ahead of the season, with defensive depth and forward line versatility identified as the top priority areas.
The Ibrox outfit have made progress on both fronts, having agreed a deal to sign Olwethu Makhanya from Philadelphia Union for £3.4m to strengthen their defensive options.
It emerged on Monday that the Gers are also stepping up their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has already been the subject of a £5m bid from Anderlecht this summer.
It remains to be seen if Rangers are pursuing Markelo as an alternative to Cozier-Duberry or want both attackers in their ranks.
