Rangers have had several approaches for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers “rebuffed” as the club’s attentions seemingly swing towards Feyenoord option Danilo.
The Ibrox side have been extensively linked with a move for 28-year-old Nigerian international Dessers – who coincidentally used to play for Feyenoord himself – all summer long.
But with the likes of Chris Jack and the Herald reporting that Rangers’ summer moves for the striker have been repeatedly knocked back, it appears the focus is now on the man who replaced him.
According to reports, Cremonese are demanding up to £7m for the Dessers, who only reportedly cost the Italian club around £5.5m last summer when he initially moved.
And that stubborn negotiating appears to have forced Rangers to change tact with Michael Beale previously suggesting that the club would not be waiting around in the transfer market this summer.

Rangers have a squad to revamp and firepower to add as the club looks to halt a worrying domestic downturn over the last 48 months and re-find that impressive footing in European football.
With the Champions League qualifiers on the horizon and the club’s pre-season training camp only weeks away it’s time for Rangers to sort out the bulk of their business with a striker top of the bill.
Somewhere along the line it appears to have become clear that a move for Cyriel Dessers won’t work as things stand and now Brazilian striker Danilo is in the Ibrox side’s crosshairs.
Earlier reports had claimed that the Feyenoord forward was a potential alternative should the move for Dessers go awry.
Having scored 14 goals last season, including ten Eredivisie strikes as Feyenoord lifted the title, Rangers fans would be welcoming a winner into their camp if a Danilo deal can be concluded.
Not that a move for Danilo is expected to be easy either, with Rangers reportedly having that initial approach for the former Ajax striker thrown out by the Dutch champions.
