Rangers have been linked with a move to secure the services of Swedish centre-back Zinedin Smajlovic.
Given the number of defensive departures, the Light Blues are prioritising bolstering their backline in the coming weeks.
They have already signed Ross McCrorie, but they are looking for at least three more defenders, along with strengthening in other areas.

Matteus Bardsen drops hint that Zinedin Smajlovic will be leaving
Sandefjord sporting director Matteus Bardsen has clearly hinted at the possibility of Smajlovic being sold this summer.
With the Norwegian club securing the services of Devon Koswal, the 22-year-old could be deemed surplus to requirements.
Alternatively, Koswal could be signed as a replacement for Smajlovic, who could now be sold, amid growing interest in his services.
Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔
Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!
Bardsen said: “Our ambition is to take big steps as a club, and to achieve this, buying and selling is an important part of our strategy.
“The signing of [Devon] Koswal does not have to mean that Zinedine will be sold in this window, but it is more about being ahead of the curve as a club. We are in a position where we must not sell anyone.”
One clear boost for the Light Blues is the fact that Celtic are not considering his services, according to Celts Are Here.
Rangers have already made contact for Smajlovic, but are yet to table a bid to sign the defender.

Will Rangers prioritise a move for Smajlovic?
The Swedish defender seems the kind of target past regimes would like to take a punt on.
The Gers have always liked to sign unearthed gems on the cheap and then sell them for a profit a few years later.
However, that system has seldom worked out, and it has always been the managers being thrown under the bus.

Under the American owners, the club are taking a more measured approach in transfer windows.
It is not that they are not signing players with high potential, but they are prioritising players who have the experience needed to walk in and become regular starters.
They have done that with Lawrence Shankland and McCrorie, so are not likely to prioritise a move for Smajlovic as of now.
