Former Rangers loanee Umar Sadiq has joined Spanish second-tier club, UD Almeria, from Partizan Belgrade for a reported fee of £4.5m [Ideal.es via Sportski Zurnal].
The 23-year-old joined the Gers on loan from Roma in 2018 and was due to compete for places with fellow strikers Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty.
However, he only managed four appearances, with his one start coming in the League Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen.
The Nigeria youth international failed to impress at Hampden and was subsequently allowed to return to Italy ahead of schedule in December.
Since joining Partizan Belgrade on an initial loan deal in July 2019, though, he’s really hit his stride.
After a successful first season in Serbia, Partizan snapped him up on a permanent deal and he continued to shine for the SuperLiga side.
That valuation was clearly very optimistic, but Partizan have reportedly now received a seven-figure fee for the striker, who joined Almeria on a five-year deal on deadline day.
The Spanish Segunda club announced Sadiq’s arrival via a video on their Twitter account at 6pm.

It may come as a shock to some Gers supporters that the ex-Roma man could command such a fee just two years after his poor stint at Ibrox.
Yet, his performances at Partizan, especially in the group stages of last season’s Europa League, have greatly elevated his status.
Sadiq could make his debut for Almeria on Saturday, as they travel to Logroñés for their third league match of the season.
