Rangers boss Michael Beale has quelled transfer rumours that a move for Malik Tillman could be imminent, following comments made about a new signing being announced this week.
Heading into the clash with Hearts, which will be the final home game of the season, Beale sent Ibrox tongues wagging when he claimed the club’s first summer signing could be announced.

You can’t blame the Ibrox support for speculating over a potential transfer deal for Tillman, with gathering reports that Rangers hope to spend the £5m it will take to sign the Bayern loanee permanently.
But speaking ahead of the clash with Hearts, Michael Beale moved to indirectly pour cold water on the rumours and confirmed that discussions over the USA international are planned next week.
“I spoke to Malik afterwards,” said Beale. “Conversation between the two clubs is still ongoing.

“I think there is a call planned for after the weekend between the two [clubs].
“But it was nice to see Malik at the weekend obviously winning another award for fine contributions made this season.”
Rangers fans are excited to see the outcome of the discussions between the Ibrox side and Bayern Munich, with Tillman a double award winner at Ibrox this season.
Picking up both the club’s Young Player of the Year Award and the PFA Scotland’s Players’ Young Player of the Year Award, it’s a testament to the impact the kid has made on Rangers this season.
Malik Tillman taking time over Rangers move
Amid much talk regarding a potential transfer, Tillman claimed that he will be taking his time, with a decision set to be made on a move to Rangers by early June.
“I’ve spoken to Michael Beale already and he said, ‘Just take your time. It’s your decision’. That’s what I’m going to do,” Tillman said after picking up his PFA Scotland award.
“The option is until the beginning of June or something so I still have three or four weeks to decide. I’m going to take my time because obviously it’s a big decision for me.
“It is still open. I am going to talk to Michael Beale in the coming days and see what he is saying and what the club is saying. Then I am going to speak to Bayern again and see what their plan is for me. And then I am going to decide.”
Rangers signed Tillman on loan from Bayern at the beginning of this season and, despite a poor campaign for the club as a whole, the 20-year-old has been a rare shining light.
Scoring 12 goals for Rangers this season, the club’s fans have got a glimpse of a talented footballer who is still very much in the embryonic stages of a potentially promising career.
