Rangers fans rejoice after club snare Ianis Hagi on loan from Genk

Rangers fans have reacted with delight after the club officially confirmed the capture of Ianis Hagi on loan from Genk [Rangers.co.uk].

The 21-year-old joins on loan until the end of the season, with the Gers holding an ‘exclusive’ option to buy thereafter.

Ianis is a full international with Romania and featured for Genk in the Champions League group stages earlier this season.

In 14 appearances in the Belgian Pro League this campaign, the attacking midfielder has scored three goals and registered four assists.

“It is a great honour to play at such a huge club with a lot of history and I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the club and I can’t wait for the first training session,” Hagi told Rangers.co.uk.

“Being in such a huge club and having this mentality of winning every game made me take this decision and I am really happy.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans and I can’t wait for them to meet me and try to build this relationship as good as possible.”

In the final day of the transfer window, Rangers have finally pulled off their first winter signing and it looks to be a real coup.

Bears are delighted at the prospect of Hagi donning the Light Blue and bringing attacking flair to a team which has begun 2020 slowly.
