Rangers fans have reacted on social media after a La Gazzetta Dello Sport report claimed the club have completed the permanent signing of Ianis Hagi from Genk.

The 21-year-old playmaker has been on loan in Glasgow since January in a deal that is soon set to expire.

However, it’s suggested that the Gers have exercised their exclusive option to buy Hagi for a fee of around €5 million.

The Italian outlet claims that move has thwarted Lazio, who had hoped to bring the Romania international to Rome for a bargain fee. Although, it does go on to suggest that the Serie A club could still approach Rangers with an increased offer, so intent are they on securing his services.

For now, this is just a report and until the news is confirmed by the club, Gers fans shouldn’t go overboard with their celebrations.

Yet, the general consensus amongst the fanbase is that Hagi is an extremely talented player and that tying him to a permanent deal would be a real coup.
