Some Rangers are getting excited after a twitter exchange involving one of Ibrox’s brightest young stars.
Glenn Middleton burst onto the scene at Rangers over the first half of the 2018/19 season.
He turned out 24 times for the senior team before the winter break, scoring five times. However, despite outstanding Reserve team performances, he only mustered three first-team appearances after the turn of the year.

He’ll be hoping for more opportunities next season, but could he be sharing the Ibrox dressing room with a Scotland youth international teammate?
On Friday evening, he quoted a tweet from the Arsenal Academy, which bid farewell to Charlie Gilmour.
‘Big things coming up…’ said Middleton, before tagging the 20-year-old midfielder and adding a heart emoji.
That use of ellipsis suggests Glenn knows something we don’t about Gilmour’s future. Naturally, plenty of Rangers fans were eager to find out more.

The recently departed Gunners youth then got in on the act, too. He responded, saying ‘what are you not telling me bro’, whipping up a storm amongst already excited Bears.

Gilmour came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and made his debut in the Europa League back in November. Unai Emery afforded him a cameo in a win over Vorskla Poltava. However, he wasn’t given an opportunity in the Premier League.
With the player himself seemingly happy to spark social media speculation, perhaps we can expect a further update on his future soon.
For now, it looks like plenty of Bears have their fingers crossed.
