Rangers fans have been wishing defender George Edmundson all the best as he moves on to Ipswich Town on a four-year deal.
The Tractor Boys have ambitions to get out of the English third tier in what will be their third straight season in League One.
Edmundson, 23, is the club’s 9th signing of the summer so far and a statement of intent as they look to climb back up the divisions.
There are mixed reports regarding the fee received for Edmundson – with the transfer fee officially “undisclosed” – but it’s believed to be somewhere in the region of £1m [Daily Record].
It’s a decent outlay for a team at this level and Town fans will be hoping George can draw on his experiences at Ibrox to be a success at Portman Road.
But George remains popular amongst Rangers fans who took the time to wish the defender – who moves on after two years at the club – all the best.

Edmundson joined Rangers in a reported £650k deal from Oldham Athletic in 2019 [Belfast Telegraph] and enjoyed a spell in the side at the end of his first season.
This included impressive performances away to SC Braga in the Europa League and a goal against Bayer Leverkusen in a 3-1 Ibrox defeat in the Last 16 of the same competition.
However, Edmundson’s time at Ibrox was marred by that high-profile Covid-19 breach where the defender attended a house party alongside teammate Jordan Jones.

This limited Edmundson to only 17 appearances in his time at Ibrox with the centre-half spending the second half of last season on loan at Derby County.
Whilst George Edmundson might be set to leave the Ibrox club, the Gers are being urged to move quickly for one player linked to Ibrox after a transfer rival received a £26m cash boost.
