Rangers fans delighted as Fashion Sakala officially arrives at training

Rangers fans have been waiting patiently for the arrival of summer signing Fashion Sakala and today is that day.

The Zambian international signed a pre-contract deal at Ibrox way back in May and ever since the Gers fans have been desperate to get a glimpse of him in club colours.

After the player’s absence from pre-season training thus far was attributed to Covid-19 quarantines and passport issues, fans began to grow impatient.

But now the club’s supporters can get used to seeing the striker at the Rangers Training Centre as he arrived for day one of his Ibrox career.

This moment has not been lost on an already adoring Gers support who’re excited to see what the 24-year-old forward can bring to the club.

The Gers reportedly beat off competition from the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham and Lille to sign Sakala as his deal ran down at KV Oostende.

This is something which hasn’t been lost on the fans as they expressed their excitement over Sakala’s arrival on Twitter:

If Fashion can hit the ground of running at Rangers we’re sure he’ll be a fan favourite and it’s in no small part down to the interviews he’s been giving prior to joining.

Sakala already seems infatuated with the prospect of playing for Rangers as he talked up Steven Gerrard’s role in signing him for the club.

“I have the chance to choose again, I would still choose Rangers and I believe this is the perfect decision that I’ve made,” said Sakala [DJ Showstar TV].

“I had meetings with the Premier League teams. I had meetings with teams in France and in LaLiga.

“These big teams put in a lot of money in but I’m not looking for money. The money I’ll be getting for Rangers… my life will be secure.

“Playing for Rangers is better than playing for some Premier League teams. Playing for Rangers is better than playing for some teams in France.

“This is a very big team, one of the most successful in terms of trophies. They have a rich history and great fanbase.”

The striker is also set for a Zambian reunion at Ibrox in the coming weeks after an international teammate agreed to join a Premier League club in a £20m deal.
