Rangers fans have debated the pros and cons of moving for former loanee, Vladimir Weiss, after it emerged that he is now a free agent.
The 30-year-old had spent three years with Qatari club Al-Gharafa, but his time there was ended by mutual consent in December.
Weiss, who earned 66 caps across a nine-year international career with Slovakia, spent the 2010-11 season at Ibrox on loan from Manchester City.

During his stint in Glasgow, he scored five times and registered an impressive 10 assists in 23 league appearances. He also provided the asisist for Nikica Jelavic’s famous League Cup-winning goal against Celtic.
A versatile operator who can play out wide or across midfield, he can also count Olympiacos and Espanyol amongst his former clubs.
It seems supporters are torn as to whether or not the Gers should attempt to bring him back this winter.

Verdict
Based on his previous exploits and the relative lack of contributions from some of the Rangers wide players so far this season, it’s easy to see why some fans are nostalgically calling for the club to bring Weiss back.
However, it must be said that this one is extremely unlikely.
Steven Gerrard has ushered in a new era at Ibrox and moving for a 30-year-old who last donned the Light Blue close to a decade ago would likely constitute a step back (despite the success of Steven Davis’ return).
The fact is, after spending the last five years in Qatar with Al-Duhail and Al-Gharafa, during which he suffered a serious knee injury, there are big question marks over the level Weiss is performing at these days.
