Any faint hopes Rangers had of signing Chelsea wonderkid Billy Gilmour on loan appear to have gone up in smoke after the midfielder was snapped in Norwich City training gear.
The Scotland international star, 20, has been extensively linked to a range of clubs in the Premier League ahead of next season with the Gers also touted as a potential destination.

Gilmour came through the Academy at Ibrox and has long since been tipped for a homecoming of epic proportions.
But anyone getting excited about the potential of Billy strutting his stuff on the Ibrox turf will be sorely disappointed after he was pictured in Norwich training kit.
Norwich City was believed to be the preferred Chelsea destination for Gilmour with manager Daniel Farke a former Dortmund colleague of Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
The Canaries’ style of play was thought to be particularly advantageous in securing one of European football’s biggest talents and now Gilmour will look to get a season of football under his belt.
Rangers were linked to Gilmour by the likes of the Daily Record who believed that the Gers wanted to dangle the carrot of Champions League football over the player and Chelsea.
However, Billy is now set for a stint at Carrow Road and Rangers fans will watch his exploits with the newly-promoted side closely next season.
This news also comes after the Scottish Sun claimed that Gilmour’s success with Chelsea and Scotland has already netted Rangers a further £1m as part of his original transfer in 2017.
Rangers fans sent their congratulations to Gilmour back in May too as he lifted the Champions League trophy with Chelsea.
