Rangers director Nils Koppen is set to attend the TransferRoom Summit, where he will meet with 300 of the “world’s transfer market decision makers”.
The incoming Rangers Director of Recruitment took to social media platform X to confirm that he will be at the event in Rome on Monday 18th March.
It comes after the appointment of Nils Koppen and the subsequent completion of the so-called Ibrox Recruitment Board earlier in the season.
The club has revamped its transfer dealings following the exit of Ross Wilson for Nottingham Forest last April with Koppen joining the Gers from PSV Eindhoven.
What is the TransferRoom summit?
TransferRoom is an online service which looks to connect all of the football industry in one virtual space and crunches “real time market intelligence” on the beautiful game.
“We empower football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the transfer market by giving them real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision makers,” reads the company’s official website.
The TransferRoom Summit will allow “key decision makers” at different football clubs to meet with each other on a one-to-one level with the aim to “strengthen relationships”.
As explained on the TransferRoom Summit website, participating clubs will enjoy three key benefits of attending the special conference:
- Access to a global network of decision makers
- Up to 38 one-to-one meetings
- Strengthen relationships and get down to business fast
Promising the “opportunity to get ahead of your rivals” ahead of the summer transfer window, participants will be allowed to partake in meetings with up to 38 different clubs
With clubs from across the UK, Europe, South & North America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia all scheduled to attend, it is a truly global event and the third time such an event will have been arranged, with previous TransferRoom summits taking place in London and Lisbon.

Nils Koppen and Rangers get down to transfer business
Rangers fans will be delighted to hear that Nils Koppen will be in attendance at the TransferRoom Summit as he continues to work on improving the club’s squad.
The Belgian recruitment boss – who works closely with Philippe Clement and other key stakeholders in making recruitment decisions – has enjoyed plaudits for a successful first window at the club.
The additions of Fabio Silva, Mohamed Diomande, and Oscar Cortes have impressed supporters and excitement is mounting over the club’s fresh approach to player trading.
We wouldn’t be surprised if one of the handshakes Nils Koppen has at the TransferRoom Summit directly impacts Rangers’ transfer dealings.
It’s hard not to view this as anything but a positive whilst it suggests we’re a club who want to be proactive in the transfer market.
