Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson attended an online “transfer summit” alongside some of Europe’s top clubs as the Gers look forward to the Champions League qualifiers.

The Ibrox side are on the hunt for quality additions as they look to tackle Europe’s elite competition next season and the Daily Record report Rangers were one of 200 clubs taking part in the exercise.

Labelled “the speed dating of football”, TransferRoom invites clubs to take part in 12-minute conversations with each other to discuss transfers and build networks.

Given Wilson’s expertise in the field of football business – and his experience with the likes of Premier League Southampton – he is a highly regarded individual in this field.

Mixing with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona and Juventus, the Gers director would’ve been discussing Rangers’ ambitions and perhaps making strong connections across the continent.

Rangers weren’t the only Scottish club involved according to the Record – Motherwell and Hibs are also said to have taken part.

Let’s hope that this was a fruitful exercise for Rangers and that we’ll see the fruits of this bloom in the coming weeks as the Gers step up their Champions League drive.

The Ibrox club has had an 11-year absence from football’s number one club competition and Steven Gerrard has his sights set on qualification.

Whilst the hunt continues for new players, one imminent Ibrox arrival has already begun stealing the hearts of the Gers faithful.
