John Souttar may already have played his final game for Rangers as he’s linked with an exit this summer.

The Scotland international did not travel with the rest of the team to Spain for their pre-season training camp in order to sort out his future.

Souttar is on the radar of multiple English clubs, and a move south of the border appears to be on the cards.

Where does John Souttar rank among the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership?

He was handed a new Rangers contract earlier this year.

Rangers want seven figures to sell John Souttar

Rangers are said to be demanding a seven-figure fee if they are to part ways with John Souttar over the coming weeks, according to the Daily Record.

Despite the 29-year-old signing a new contract at Ibrox a few months ago, the Light Blues are not expected to stand in his way as he aims to seal his exit.

Sheffield United were said to be the frontrunners to sign Souttar, but the Blades are facing stiff competition for his services.

Cammy Devlin and Ivor Pandur are in contention!

Former Gers manager Russell Martin is in charge at Leicester City and is also said to be keen on the defender.

While John’s brother, Harry, is also there at the King Power Stadium, he is expected to leave this summer, so an all-Souttar centre-back pairing is not expected to be on the cards.

Thus far, the Gers have not accepted any offers for Souttar, but that is expected to change in due course.

How much is Souttar going to be sold for this summer?

Rangers signed Souttar on a free transfer back in 2022, so any money they make from his sale will be counted as a profit.

That does not mean that they will want to part ways with him on the cheap, as he was part of the Scotland team at the World Cup and signed a new deal recently.

Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?

Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…

Given the interest in his services, the club may look to demand at least £2m if they are to part ways with him.

Derek McInnes does not see him as a part of his first-team plans at Ibrox, so it makes sense to cash in on him.

Souttar looked to be in contention to become the captain back when he signed a new deal, but a lot has changed since then.
