Rangers defender Connor Goldson has hinted that he sees his long-term future at Ibrox, as he eyes a successful partnership with Filip Helander, as quoted by the Glasgow Times.
The centre-back joined the Gers from Premier League side Brighton in the summer of 2018 and has since served as the club’s vice-captain.

Goldson has been almost an ever-present at the heart of Steven Gerrard’s defence, racking up 118 appearances to date alongside a number of different partners.
His current contract expires in 2022 but he’s hinted that he wants to stay at Ibrox for the foreseeable future, alongside 2019 signing Helander.
“I hope we can forge a real partnership here long-term that can get success by winning trophies,” said Goldson, as quoted by the Glasgow Times. “That’s what we all want.”
“It doesn’t matter who’s on the team-sheet, we all want to win as a team. We’re desperate to bring silverware back to this club, which it deserves.
“Hopefully sooner rather than later, it can be us that brings it back. I don’t want to ever leave this football club without winning anything.”

Connor Goldson hints his long-term future is at Rangers as he targets silverware – Verdict
Goldson has received plenty of criticism from sections of the Rangers support during his time at the club and his error in possession allowed Hibernian to snatch a draw against the Gers at Easter Road a fortnight ago.
In the main, though, he’s been excellent at the back whether partnered alongside Helander, Nikola Katic, Joe Worrall, George Edmundson or Leon Balogun.
The Englishman is very robust and dominant in the air in both boxes, while his leadership was key during the remarkable run of clean sheets at the start of the season.
Goldson is still only 27, so if he wants to stay at Ibrox beyond his current deal, as long as he maintains his performance levels, the club should be handing him an extension.
