Rangers may be tempted to sell one of their ‘brightest’ talents before the end of the January transfer window.
Archie Stevens is currently plying his trade in the Rangers B team but made his first-team debut at the start of the 2022/23 season in a Viaplay Cup triumph over Queen of the South.
He hasn’t been able to earn any more opportunities since then but he could be on his way out of the Ibrox front doors anyway if Brighton are successful in their reported pursuit of our teenage winger.
According to the Daily Record, the Premier League outfit are set to launch a six-figure bid for Stevens, who is currently an England U18 international.
The Seagulls are renowned for recruiting young talent out of obscurity and developing them into players worthy of playing in England’s top-flight. And that seems to be their intention for Stevens.
The same report adds that Rangers would make a big profit if they were to sell and could potentially benefit from add-ons in the deal.
Archie Stevens on moving to Rangers

Stevens was picked up by Rangers from AFC Wimbledon in June 2021 at just 16 years old. He had other suitors interested in him but chose Ibrox because of the sheer stature of the club.
He told Rangers’ official website back in the summer of 2022: “I moved here last June from AFC Wimbledon and when this opportunity came up, I just couldn’t turn it down.
“It’s an exciting move for me and it has gone really well so far. It’s a big thing to move to a new city at such a young age. I was only 16, but Glasgow is lovely and the club have made it really easy for me to settle here.
“I settled straight away to be honest. There were a few players who joined in the summer at the same time as me and we have all settled together. I had options but Rangers really stood out.
“It is such a massive club with the history and fanbase and there is a pathway to the first-team. The facilities, the training and coaching just stood out for me from the first day.
“A lot of big clubs think they have the best facilities but when you come up here, look around and see what is on offer, it is something you can’t turn down.
“I just love the history of the club and it’s something I haven’t really seen before. I knew straight away how big the club was and it amazed me when I actually came here.”
