The Daily Record report that Rangers are considering pushing the boat out for George Edmundson.
This one has been rumbling on for weeks now.
Most recently, the Gers were said to have had a £600k deal rejected.
However, with a host of other parties said to be interested, it seems they now accept that if they want the Oldham Athletic centre-back, they will have to meet the £1m asking price.

Verdict
It’s quite a leap to go from a first offer of under £400k to stumping up £1m. However, the fact that so many clubs are said to be in for Edmundson, is surely an indicator of significant potential.
After being named in the League Two Team of the Year and earning the Player of the Year award at Oldham, the 21-year-old is clearly ready for a step up.
The fact of the matter is, that the Gers need reinforcements at the back.
Joe Worrall has bid farewell to the fans and returned to Nottingham Forest. Gareth McAuley is set for the exit, too, with his contract expiring.

Therefore, they can’t afford to risk losing out on Edmundson by continually offering low sums.
£1m is a leap, but considering the club forked out approximately double that on the relatively inexperienced Nikola Katic last summer [Daily Record], it should hardly break the bank, either.
