Rangers are struggling for numbers in midfield and in the attacking areas behind the striker, if only we had a player like Ianis Hagi who could play almost anywhere in these areas.
The versatile playmaker left Ibrox for sunnier shores in the summer when Michael Beale decided that he didn’t want him as part of the squad but the new Gers boss might have other ideas.
Philippe Clement looks increasingly frustrated with his lengthy injury list and will want all the quality he can get in January with David Edgar revealing on Heart and Hand that Rangers can recall their two loanees in Alex Lowry and Ianis Hagi.

Rangers can immediately strengthen squad with Ianis Hagi recall
First of all, Lowry should be left at Hearts to continue his development.
He is getting game time, playing in a tough environment and challenging at the right end of the table, he will learn far more there than if he returned to Glasgow.
As we saw against Real Betis though, we really need to think about bringing the mercurial Romanian back who has not only been impressing in La Liga but also on the international stage.
What was also apparent, was the lack of options.
We are now at the stage where pretty much one injury in any position leads to a crisis.
Tom Lawrence suffering another setback and Todd Cantwell’s absence for personal reasons meant that Sam Lammers was the only available number ten.
He did ok, worked hard, linked play and tried to make things happen but he just isn’t on the same level as the others in his position.
The biggest difference is that Rangers fans have seen Ianis Hagi, in the past, even having a bad game, still being capable of providing a matchwinner.
Lammers just doesn’t seem to have the same ability to produce a moment of magic, either a pass or a goal from nowhere as the 25-year old who was signed for £4m.
Rabbi Matondo is also struggling to stay fit so it makes perfect sense to bring back a quality player who can play as a number eight, ten or on the right wing.
When you see the improvement of some of the players under Philippe Clement, a football obsessive like Ianis Hagi will only be a benefit to Rangers in what will be the easiest decision the boss makes this transfer window.
