Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has provided a transfer update on Alfredo Morelos, with the club not considering cashing in on him this month [Scotsman].
Morelos was the subject of persistent speculation during the summer transfer window, with the Gers reportedly turning down a £16.25m bid from Lille [Daily Mail].

It was thought that the French club might come back in for the 24-year-old this month, but no offers appear to have landed as yet and as far as Gerrard is concerned, Morelos is staying at Ibrox at least until the summer.
“We want the best for Alfredo in his career,” said the Rangers manager [Scotsman]. “We want to give him that support and that love like we do for all the other players. But it was really fantastic for me to see him back scoring high-quality goals at important times. And we are going to need him doing that between now and the end of the season.”
“What happens beyond that we will just have to wait and see, but we will always be respectful of him and what he wants.
“But the important thing is that he always remembers the support that he’s had from supporters since day one and his job is to try and make them as happy as he can between now and the end of the season. That should be all he is focused on.”

This update will be music to the ears of most Rangers fans.
Morelos had a poor first half of the season, scoring only eight times prior to the turn of the year in comparison to 28 by that point in the previous campaign.
However, as Gerrard said, he was outstanding against Aberdeen last weekend, scoring two brilliant goals during what was undoubtedly his best individual performance of the season.
With Kemar Roofe currently out injured, there’s more pressure on El Bufalo to produce in front of goal and if he wants a big move in the summer, he’ll need to start finding the net more regularly.
Rangers have the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the table to 23 points on Sunday afternoon with a win over Motherwell at Fir Park and here’s our Predicted XI for the game.
