Rangers boss Steven Gerrard could reportedly allow Jordan Jones to join Aberdeen this month in order to bring in Scott Wright [Glasgow Live].
The announcement of the pre-contract signing of Wright on a three-year deal is said to be imminent, but the Gers are trying to convince Aberdeen to part with their asset this month.

It’s suggested that Rangers could reduce the £350,000 fee that the Dons are due to pay in the summer for the signing of Ross McCrorie.
But another possibility is a player swap deal. It was previously reported that Greg Stewart, who has played for Aberdeen twice before, would be the Ger most likely to go the other way in such a scenario [Glasgow Times].
Now, though, Jordan Jones looks to be the prime candidate [Glasgow Live].
Even if he doesn’t leave Ibrox as part of the Wright deal, it’s expected that he will head out elsewhere on loan before the transfer deadline.
Jones and George Edmundson were the players involved in a high-profile breach of Covid-19 restrictions earlier in the season that saw them pick up seven-match SFA bans.
Gerrard subsequently accepted apologies from both players and said: “they’re good players and we need them here to help support us moving forward” [RangersTV].

Yet, neither player has featured for the first team since completing their bans in December.
Injuries have played a part in their continued absence, but this latest report suggests that Gerrard may have changed his mind and now sees Jones as surplus to requirements at Ibrox.
If the winger’s time at the club was to end this month, it would go down as a disappointing stint.
Since arriving from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2019, he’s only made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and contributing two assists.
