Rangers are reportedly battling La Liga side Real Sociedad and Turkish outfit Besiktas for the signing of Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen.
The Gers have reportedly been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old Danish winger and according to Italian outlet il Resto de Carlino, the Ibrox club have made an “enquiry” regarding the player.
This is after Skov Olsen himself reportedly made it clear he was unhappy with playing time at the Serie A side and is looking for a move in January.
According to the report, Bologna manager Sinisa Mihajlovic is open to the idea of moving Andreas Skov Olsen and has targets of his own in the upcoming window.
These include the likes of Udinese’s Danish defender Stryger Larsen, Lazio right-midfielder Manuel Lazzari and Feyenoord wing-back Marcus Holmgren Pedersen.
Bologna are going well as things stand in Serie A this season, sitting in 10th, with Andreas Skov Olsen starting only four league games this season and playing in 14.
Rangers have been extensively linked to Andreas Skov Olsen in the past
This isn’t the first time Rangers have been linked to Skov Olsen with reports regarding the Bologna winger moving to Ibrox resurfacing in November this year.
This was after reports in Italy claimed that the 15-times-capped Denmark winger would be available for loan this January.
But links between Rangers and Skov Olsen have persisted ever since the player’s time in Denmark, with the Gers linked to the talented player even during his time with FC Nordsjælland.
There were even claims the Gers failed with a loan bid for the winger in the summer of 2020, reports in Italy suggesting Rangers wanted Andreas Skov Olsen 18 months ago.
The il Resto de Carlino report doesn’t make it clear what kind of deal Bologna are looking to do with the winger but Andreas Skov Olsen cost the Italians £5.1m in 2019 [Football Italia].
Rangers have a proud history of Danish attackers with Erik Bo Andersen, Brian Laudrup and Peter Lovenkrands the pick of the bunch.
Skov Olsen isn’t the only right-winger being linked with a move to Rangers either as the Ibrox side reportedly scout a Belgian youth international.
