Rangers are interested in luring goalkeeper Angus Gunn to Ibrox this summer as Michael Beale plots another raid on Norwich City.

That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Rangers are looking to prise Gunn away from Carrow Road.

It’s noted that Rangers director of football Ross Wilson is already familiar with Gunn.

Wilson worked in Southampton’s recruitment department when they snapped up Gunn from Manchester City back in 2018.

The report adds that Gunn is valued at around £3million and could be available this summer.

New Norwich boss David Wagner doesn’t appear to be a huge fan and Gunn may end up following Todd Cantwell to Glasgow.

Gunn – the son of former Aberdeen and Hibernian goalkeeper Bryan Gunn – can play for Scotland at international level and a move to Rangers may increase the possibility of a call-up.

It’s time for Rangers to sign a goalkeeper amid Angus Gunn interest

Gunn, 27, needs to be playing regularly and Rangers may be able to offer that opportunity.

Michael Beale faces a tough few months figuring out his goalkeeping situation, but he will surely add a new face.

Allan McGregor has turned 41 and is out of contract this summer. Jon McLaughlin may be contracted until 2024, but he will likely never be first choice.

Robby McCrorie is in the mix too, but he is yet to break through at 24 and may soon face a tough decision.

Gunn would surely arrive as a first-choice goalkeeper for Rangers and give the Gers a clear plan between the sticks moving forward.

Hailed as a ‘great talent’ by former Norwich boss Daniel Farke, Gunn maybe hasn’t quite lived up to his potential but settling down at Rangers could be great for him moving forward.

McGregor has offered great service to Rangers but it’s time to spend on his heir – and Gunn could be that player if Rangers make their move.
