Reports linking Rangers and Celtic to Fenerbahce star Bright Osayi Samuel have resurfaced in Turkey – and they claim the Istanbul side may be about to lower their asking price.

Former QPR winger Samuel, 23, joined the Turkish Super Lig club in January after initially agreeing a pre-contract move from Loftus Road.

However, Bright has somewhat struggled to settle into life in Turkey and there has been much speculation regarding his future this summer.

Rangers have been extensively linked to the player – as have Old Firm rivals Celtic – with both reportedly retaining an interest before a deal with Fenerbahce was struck [Glasgow Times].

However, both Old Firm clubs have been linked again this summer with earlier reports suggesting Fenerbahce wanted €5m (£4.3m) to see the player move [Takvim via Inside Futbol].

Now, Fanatik are claiming that Rangers and Celtic are leading the chase for Osayi-Samuel with Fenerbahce willing to “evaluate” any offers that come in for the player.

That report claims that Osayi-Samuel could move for as little as €3m (£2.6m) with both parties ready to part ways after a difficult six months in Turkey.

This is a player who we’ve seen mentioned alongside Rangers a lot and given the fact the Nigerian-born winger grew up in London, it’s hard to judge him by an ill-fated spell on foreign shores.

In fact, Osayi-Samuel’s troubles in Turkey could help the Gers secure a bargain with Bright very highly rated prior to the move.

It’s a situation Rangers fans will be watching closely as the club looks to add quality to their ranks amid a tense Champions League charge.

Rangers have found themselves depleted in qualification so far but have called for a key player to be reinstated to salvage their Champions League campaign.
