Rangers and Celtic have both had bids rejected for Queen’s Park left-back Cameron Bruce as the teenager breaks through into the Championship side’s first-team.

Premier League clubs are also said to be tailing the 16-year-old, who made his first team debut with the Spiders towards the end of last season and is widely regarded as amongst their top talents.

That’s according to the Scottish Sun, who are claiming that the ambitious Glasgow side have no intention of selling Cameron Bruce amid talk of Old Firm bids.

Whilst the clubs involved in the apparent Premier League interest have not been named, Queen’s Park are eager to hold on to the kid who came through the Lesser Hampden side’s youth ranks.

According to the report, the Sir Willie Haughey-bankrolled club have ambitions to have the best Academy in the country and have their sights on Premiership promotion.

Rangers-linked Cameron Bruce committed to Queen’s Park

Cameron Bruce signed a new deal with Queen’s Park towards the end of last season, tying himself to the club ahead of his 17th birthday this December.

Speaking after the signing the deal, Bruce paid tribute to the coaches at the southside Glasgow club.

“I owe a lot to the coaches and players that I have played alongside, who have helped me get to this stage and I am grateful to the club for trusting and believing in me,” said Cameron Bruce.

“I hope with more hard work it can continue.

“It was an easy decision for me to commit my future to the club. The club has ambition and is going forward.

“This is where I want to be.”

Rangers have undergone an extensive summer of recruitment in the club’s youth ranks and have soaked up a range of talents from around the Scottish game.

These include the likes of Cameron Cooper (Partick Thistle), Kieron Willox (Inverness) and Connor Young (Hibs) but it’s clear Cameron Bruce may be a little harder to land.

Meanwhile, a Rangers star who was once linked to the Bundesliga has been turning heads amid reports of a £5m Ibrox transfer deal.
