Rangers youngster Nicky Hogarth has been snapped up on an emergency loan deal, joining SPFL League Two club Cowdenbeath [Rangers Youth Academy Twitter].
The deal, which is only expected to last for a week, was announced on Boxing Day.
Hogarth is a promising young goalkeeper, who has featured at B team level for Rangers this season.
The 19-year-old travelled with the Gers first-team squad to Gibraltar in September for the second-round UEFA Europa League qualifier against Lincoln Red Imps and he’s already been out on loan on multiple occasions.
Hogarth has previously represented East Stirling, Kilwinning Rangers, Caledonian Braves and most recently, over the second half of last season, Stirling Albion.
He has made nine career appearances in the SPFL, keeping three clean sheets.
The young Ger went straight into the Cowdenbeath starting XI for their Scottish Cup fixture against Wick Academy at Central Park on Boxing Day and kept a clean sheet on debut as the hosts cruised through to the Second Round.
Hogarth is also likely to turn out for ‘The Blue Brazil’ in a League Two fixture against Edinburgh City next weekend before returning to Auchenhowie.
Nicky’s younger brother Jay, 17, is also a Rangers Academy goalkeeper, who features at age-group level.
