Premier League outfit eye Rangers hero as £15m ex-Celtic star follow up

Premier League Crystal Palace retain “serious interest” in Rangers and Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo despite comments from the Nigerian international reaffirming his commitment to Ibrox.

That’s according to the Athletic, who believe that whilst there is yet to be any movement the Eagles are certainly considering a bid.

This comes after the Selhurst Park club entered the Scottish market last season and spent £15m [Eurosport] to bring former Celtic striker and French youth international Odsonne Edouard to the club.

The interest comes at an interesting juncture for Joe Aribo at Rangers with the Nigerian international entering the final year of his deal.

Alongside Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, Rangers face a serious dilemma with this talented Ibrox trio who will either need to sign up or be shipped out this summer.

Rangers have made a lot about the player trading model at the club and at 25-years-old Joe Aribo represents perhaps the most viable selling option this summer amid these Crystal Palace links.

But that hasn’t stopped Joe reiterating his commitment to the Rangers during the international break with Nigeria as Aribo insists he’s happy exactly where he is.

“I don’t know. I never knew about anything to be honest, I just focused on football,” said Joe Aribo [Brila FM].

“I’m happy at Rangers, I’ve been happy since I got here and I’ve loved every single minute of it.

“So I’ve just been focused on here and I just want to stay focused because at the end of the day, I’m a Rangers player and I’m not thinking about leaving because I’m really happy here.”

Meanwhile, any Rangers interest in a talented Bolton Wanderers attacker could depend on the future of a £7m Ibrox investment.
