Rangers need a new goalkeeper, one who is solid, reliable and experienced, Wes Foderingham ticks all those boxes.
The 32-year old Sheffield United stopper has had his chance at Ibrox, but his form this season can’t be ignored.
Conceding just 32 goals all season with 18 clean sheets, Wes Foderingham has been a key figure in the Blades promotion back to the Premier League after leaving Rangers.

There was always an issue with Foderingham at Rangers around his ability to stop long range efforts but his distribution and overall game was consistently solid.
In terms of close range or reaction saves, he couldn’t really be faulted though.
In 2018/19, Foderingham covered for Allan McGregor on a few occasions, he definitely seemed to have benefitted from having a stronger defence in front of him and from training with one of the best.
A strong Old Firm display after a series of heavy defeats also meant that he could leave Ibrox with his head held high.
Could Wes Foderingham return to Rangers?
Having joined Sheffield United in the Premier League and playing understudy to Dean Henderson, Wes has come into his own as first choice and will be looking forward to getting his chance in the top flight next season, if he is offered a new deal.
On paper, Foderingham is probably the type of keeper we should be looking at in terms of how proactive he is and his distribution.
As Robby McCrorie showed against Aberdeen, a Rangers number one needs to be able to command their area, be confident receiving the ball anywhere around their box and also have the concentration levels to make key saves.
Had Foderingham been five years younger then he might have been an option on a free transfer but it wouldn’t be a popular move now.
As it is, I don’t think “League One Wes” would fancy turning his nose up at Old Trafford, The Emirates and Anfield for Rugby Park and the Toni Macaroni Arena.
