Leeds Live reports that Ryan Kent is ‘open’ to moving to Elland Road this summer.
This is another twist in what is becoming something of a transfer saga.

On Monday, the Daily Mail claimed that the Gers were closing in on a second loan deal for the Liverpool winger.
Yet,
the more recent Leeds Live piece contradicts that somewhat.
Instead, it suggests the 22-year-old is ‘in the dark’ concerning Liverpool’s plans for him.
Furthermore, the report states that Leeds’ Director of Football, Victor Orta, has held several meetings with Kent’s representatives recently.

Verdict

This is a blow for Rangers fans who were getting excited on Monday. It seemed then that an Ibrox return for the wide man was near inevitable.
Several factors suggest Ibrox would be a more attractive proposition for Kent.
Despite that, though, Gerrard might be further away from securing his target than initially thought.

Let’s hope the club is willing to go toe-to-toe with the Elland Road side, in order to land an important asset.
Kent made 43 appearances for Rangers last season, netting six times. He’s a firm favourite of the Ibrox faithful and could be key to Gerrard’s charge for no.55.
