Potential Kent replacement scores outrageous goal amid Rangers interest

Rangers target Luis Palma has given another indication of his qualities by scoring direct from a corner for Aris.

The Gers have been heavily linked with a move to sign Palma at the end of the season.

Greek newspaper Sportime reported earlier this month that Rangers are keen on Aris ace Palma.

It was suggested at the time that Rangers would be scouting Palma in action for Aris against Olympiacos.

SportDog in Greece add that Aris are willing to sell Palma for around €5million (£4.4million) this summer.

That’s a hefty price for Rangers to pay and would surely take up most of Michael Beale’s budget.

Yet with Ryan Kent likely to be on the move, Rangers may well need to invest in a left winger who can change games and produce a bit of magic.

If Rangers weren’t sure whether Palma could be that man, they must just have their answer…

Rangers target Luis Palma scores direct from a corner

Palma and Aris again took on Olympiacos on Wednesday night.

Aris won this one 2-1 and took the lead through a remarkable Palma goal.

With 36 minutes on the clock, Palma whipped a left-sided corner kick into the penalty area.

The ball flew right over the top of goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis and nestled into the back of the net.

The goal can be viewed here, as posted by Catragol.

That set Aris on their way to victory and gave Rangers a taste of what could be to come.

Rangers already have an outstanding dead ball specialist in James Taverner.

Palma appears to have similar ability though and can provide a real threat from set plays should Rangers sign him.

The cash is still a concern but Rangers were surely watching Wednesday’s display with real interest as Honduran international Palma emerged as a possible Kent replacement.
