Eintracht Frankfurt already value William Pacho at around £35 million with Rangers’ summer target making an immediate impact in the Bundesliga.

When you consider that Frankfurt bounced back from the sales of Luka Jovic, Sebastien Haller, Ante Rebic and co before claiming a European trophy – beating Rangers in a gruelling finale in Seville back in 2022 – it should perhaps come as no real surprise that the departure of Evan Ndicka to Roma is not holding Die Adler back either.

William Pacho had big shoes to fill when he replaced Frankfurt’s most influential defender over the summer. It’s testament to the immediacy of his impact, however, that Ndicka’s successor has seen his market value rise from £8 million to £35 million in the space of just a few months.

Rangers scouted William Pacho

Rangers, according to Het Nieuwsblad, sent scouts to watch Pacho in action for Royal Antwerp last term, their interest appearing to wane as the Colombian’s price-tag rose considerably throughout 2022/23.

Since moving to Germany instead, however, that rise is showing no sign of slowing down. TEAMtalk believe that Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace are already watching closely, the club’s on Pacho’s trail now lying on the other side of Hadrian’s Wall. Palace reportedly see Pacho as a potential replacement for their £50 million-rated England international Marc Guehi

Best defence in the Bundesliga

The Colombian colossus is a major reason why Frankfurt boast the best defensive record in the Bundesliga. No team, not even title challengers Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig or Bayer Leverkusen, can match their record of just five goals conceded in seven matches.

The contrast between rock-solid Frankfurt and an error-riddled Rangers could hardly be more stark either, Mick Beale losing his job at Pacho’s former suitors following a handful of calamitous defeats marked by the most needless of concessions

Beale’s replacement, Philippe Clement, has already spoken about his desire to tighten things up at both ends of the pitch as the new Gers boss looks to strike a balance between control and creativity.
