Rangers will be looking to strengthen in the January transfer window, not just because of the current injury list but because Philippe Clement will want to add his own players.
It is a squad that is imbalanced and needs fine tuning in certain areas with the Gers boss fully aware of the work that needs to be done.

A left-back and striker are said to be priorities but a winger is also sure to be near the top of any shopping list.
When asked if Rangers were close to making any additions to the squad, Philippe Clement wasn’t giving much away:
“Are we close, are we far? You are that close when a signing is made, when the signature is there. Before that, you’re never close in this world. I’ve seen enough in my career.
“We will see in the next couple of days and weeks what will happen. We have the same ideas, me and the board, about what to do. I know everybody is working really hard to make it happen as fast as possible, so we will see.”
It’s encouraging that the board seem to be singing off the same song sheet as the manager because we really need to get new players in, not just to cover injuries either.
What could be a possible scenario is that Clement sells or moves players on who might not be in his plans so that he can replace them with others who might contribute more.
The thing with injuries is that he has seen players like Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling go from struggling to make squads to impressing on a week by week basis.
Rangers need quality, not quantity, hopefully Philippe Clement gets more right than wrong when the window opens.
