Rangers will need to strengthen again in January after a questionable summer transfer window, with Philippe Clement hoping that he will be given funds to spend.
The Gers boss has improved a few players already but he isn’t a miracle worker and there are certain positions that need to be upgraded.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the Rangers manager was asked what his plans were for the transfer window with his answer being in true Philippe Clement fashion.

Rangers should back Philippe Clement in the transfer window
Much has been made of the money spent/wasted in the summer, however, there have reassurances from the board that this won’t affect the Belgian’s budget.
What would affect it would be if he is able to move out some of the players that he doesn’t see as having a long-term future at the Ibrox outfit, especially those that might still have some sort of value.
When asked if it was going to be a busy transfer window and if the squad was going to see a lot of changes, he said:
“Reshaping it in January is much more difficult than in the summer, that’s the reality in football with every club so I’m realistic about that.
“The idea is to do something but it will not be a lot of things, it needs to be the right things.
“First we need to make a good assessment about that (transfers out). It’s not good, fair, or honest to do it in six weeks, that’s really short to make decisions around that.
“Until January and even in January players have the time to prove themselves that they are the right men for the club and position. It’s an open battle in that way to show themselves.”
Philippe Clement has been a man of his word in that he has given plenty of players in his Rangers squad a chance to impress.
Some of them have, some of them clearly haven’t.
What he has been is fair though, as frustrating as we may have found that at times.
It will be harder in January but you can still find quality, look at last winter when Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell arrived.
A couple of players with a similar type of profile would be a welcome sight, especially if others who aren’t performing are moved in the opposite direction.
