Philippe Clement has admitted recently that he might need to rethink his January transfer plans for Rangers as the treatment room waiting list grows with every passing week.
The Gers boss ended up playing a midfield featuring a natural right-back and centre-half at Ibrox against St Johnstone and is down to his last fit striker, the squad urgently needs reinforcements.
Managers will always favour players that they have worked with before and Philippe Clement will be no different but, as already posed by Rangers News, could Eliot Matazo of Monaco be a possibility? If so, what would we be getting?

What Philippe Clement would get with Eliot Matazo return
This season has almost been a write off for the Belgian Under-21 international but his numbers last season paint an easy to understand image of what type of player he is.
In short, think Tomas Soucek of West Ham, except he isn’t 6ft 4inches tall.
What is clear, is that Philippe Clement would be getting exactly the type of player that Rangers need – one that can protect the back four.
As shown by the image from DataMB, Matazo isn’t the type of player to pick the ball up and create chances or score goals.
What he will do though is stop the opposition from doing this.

Under Clement, we have seen chances for other teams restricted to the extent that we haven’t conceded a single shot on target in the last two games.
Much of this is down to the back four but, a lot of it is down to the midfield stopping the opposition before they get into our final third.
Prevention is better than cure and all that.
Matazo would be perfect under the current manager who wants us to defend on the front foot, win the ball in the attacking half and then move the ball quickly.
At 21-years old, he has a lot of potential and room for improvement whilst, with 77 Ligue 1 games behind him, knows what it takes to compete at a high level.
Clement liked him at Monaco, but did he like him enough to bring him to Glasgow?
That’s the question.
