Partick Thistle manager, Ian McCall, has expressed his delight at signing Rangers midfielder, Jamie Barjonas, on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old’s transfer was announced on Monday, seeing him link up with former Gers teammate Zak Rudden at Thistle.
It’s a third loan stint away from Ibrox for the talented youngster, who has previously represented both Bury and Raith Rovers.
Neither of those spells produced spectacular results, but speaking at Firhill on Thursday afternoon, McCall was clearly delighted that he’d managed to pull off the signing.
“Barjonas is a player that I can absolutely relate to,” he said.
“I don’t think he did that well on his loan spells before, but he looks like the type of boy, and the guys at Rangers have said this to me, that the penny has dropped with him.”
“There’s no doubting his ability and I’ve had a number of players in the last few years, and a number of players in the last 20 years, where you get them just at the right time when the penny is dropping.”

The Jags boss went on say that he hoped Barjonas would make a big impact but warned that he won’t automatically find a place in his best XI.
“I’ve got high hopes for him, he needs to work hard to get into the team because the midfield is doing well just now.
“He’ll certainly be in the squad [for the trip to Arbroath on Saturday]…we’ve got a number of players in that position and the competition in there will be hot, which is great.”
