Rangers winger Kai Kennedy is reportedly “expected” to leave the Ibrox side in January as the player’s contract ticks down whilst out on loan at Falkirk.

Once considered one of the brightest talents in the Rangers youth set-up – even being linked to the likes of Man City and Bayern Munich – it’s been a difficult few seasons for the 20-year-old attacker.

After a very public run-in with former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard over signing a deal, things haven’t gone to plan for Kai Kennedy since making his breakthrough at Ibrox as a teenager.

A series of loan deals in the Scottish lower divisions have followed, with the player turning out at Inverness, Raith Rovers, Dunfermline, Hamilton and now Falkirk.

Kai Kennedy will be free to speak with other clubs on January 1st and having been something of a forgotten man in recent months Football Scotland have been providing an update on the player’s situation.

Kai Kennedy “expected” to leave Rangers

The report claims that Kennedy is now considering his options with several clubs from north and south of the border interested in his services, although they do not specify who.

Football Scotland are claiming that the winger is “likely” to agree his next destination in the January window but will also likely stay at Falkirk until the end of the season.

Despite Michael Beale being a fan of the youngster, the report also mentions that Kai Kennedy is “expected” to leave with the intention of finding more first team football.

If the Scotland youth international does move on it will be an unfortunate end to an initially bright Rangers career, with the kid making his debut at 17-years-old in a 2020 Scottish Cup clash with Stranraer.

This season, Kai Kennedy has impressed with League One Falkirk, netting two goals in 15 appearances for the club, and putting in a series of man of the match displays.

Meanwhile, Rangers boss Michael Beale has allayed fears regarding on returning star’s fitness.
