Danny Ings isn’t the type of player that Rangers would want to pin their hopes on long-term but he has been fit for the best part of two years now and managed a goal every two games in terms of Premier League minutes last season.
He just isn’t a good fit for Moyes and it was always a strange decision.
Ings is exactly the type of player that we need though.
Similar to Roofe, he can link play and play between the lines but thrives when he is given quality service in and around the box.
The three times capped England international has been linked with a move away from London and Rangers would be able to offer something other than mid-table mediocrity or a relegation battle.
He would also be playing in a team that dominates possession and creates plenty of chances, and all good strikers love that sort of environment.
A link in 2016 when Mark Warburton never materialised – we ended up with Joey Garner – but if Jared Bowen and Michail Antonio are pencilled in for quick recoveries, Rangers should be joining the queue for Danny Ings.
