Once Rangers-linked midfielder Jack Wilshere has officially signed for Danish Superliga side Aarhus Gymnastikforening (AGF) after months without a club.
The former England international midfielder has had a career disrupted with injuries and was heavily linked with a move to Rangers last January following his release from West Ham United.
But whilst any Rangers move for Jack Wilshere failed to materialise, the ex-Arsenal star signed a short term deal at Championship Bournemouth before being released in the summer.
Now signing on at the Jutland-based Danish side, Jack Wilshere joins AGF with the club 7th in the country’s top flight.
Going from links to Rangers to moving to Denmark, it’s an interesting career move for Jack Wilshere but one the midfielder is relishing.
“Since I started training with Arsenal, I have never hidden the fact that it was to be ready for 2022 and for a new club,” said Wilshere [AGF].
“Now the right club is here, and it will be an exciting new challenge for me. I am in a place in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period and that opportunity has AGF offered me.
“For that I am very grateful, and I will do everything I can to live up to the expectations.
“I am very much looking forward to contributing to the team. I’m physically in really good shape and I feel fit, so now for me it’s about getting into the squad and see if I can earn some playing time for the club and contribute to get some wins.”

Midfielder Jack Wilshere has also directly responded to those links to Rangers in the past, and claims that no official contact was ever made by the Ibrox club.
This January it’s interesting that Rangers also launched a move for one of Jack Wilshere’s former Arsenal teammates in Aaron Ramsey.
But after the latest injury news surrounding the midfielder, and yet more dropped points, it’s had some questioning the move.
