A leading Turkish football journalist has claimed that Rangers-linked striker Michy Batshuayi is set to leave Fenerbahce this month.
Speaking on social media platform X, Turkish sports presenter Elise Buse Araç has claimed that the Istanbul outfit will officially “part ways” with the striker during the break.
Now being linked with a move to Rangers, Michy Batshuayi is reportedly frustrated with a lack of playing time at Fenerbahce, where he is currently playing second fiddle to Edin Dzeko.
A translated version of the tweet reads:
“Fenerbahçe will officially part ways with Michy Batshuayi at halftime.
“The yellow-dark blue team informed their manager that they would evaluate the offers for the Belgian star player, whom they did not consider in the squad during the last summer transfer period.”
Michy Batshuayi held crisis talks with Fenerbahce
It’s not the only soundbite pointing to a Fenerbahce exit for Rangers-linked Michy Batshuayi either.
Fenerbahce president Ali Koc was set for a crisis meeting with the unhappy striker this week after telling the forward there was a place for him in Ismail Kartal’s squad if he wanted to stay and fight for the jersey.
“If you want to stay, there is a place for you in Fenerbahçe,” Koc told the striker.
“But if you are restless when you are on the bench, it will affect the team. Let us know your final decision as soon as possible.”
As reported by Turkish outlet Enson Haber, despite being reassured of his place at Fenerbahce the Turkish side are willing to let the forward leave amid “serious” interest from Belgium and France.
It’s also reported that Fenerbahce have the option of another year on the striker’s contract with the potential for a loan solution mooted.

Rangers-linked striker spotted in Dubai
Whilst we certainly weren’t a fly on the wall during that meeting with Ali Koc, the comments of Elise Buse Araç suggest that Michy Batshuayi has made up his mind at Fenerbahce this season.
It’s not the only giveaway either with the striker spotted at a famous private Dubai Zoo whilst his teammates prepare for a Super Lig match against Konyaspor later today.
Posting on his official Instagram, Batshuayi posed for a photo at Fame Park along with the zoo’s owner Dr. Saif Belhasa.
With Fenerbahce top of the Turkish Super Lig as things stand it’s clear they don’t want any distractions and Rangers might well be set to benefit.
The Ibrox club are on the hunt for a new hitman to bolster their squad and Michy Batshuayi is certainly a name which is familiar to Rangers manager Philippe Clement.
