Rangers boss Michael Beale is now confident that he can convince Ryan Kent to extend his contract at Ibrox. The forward is set to be a free agent from the end of the current season.
That is according to Dean Jones, who reports that Beale believes he can persuade Kent to stay at Rangers. The 26-year-old is now nearing the end of his existing terms but is still yet to decide on his future. Gers chiefs will also be in a strong position if they match his ambitions.
Rangers have decisions to make over several senior players with Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Filip Helander, Ryan Jack, Allan McGregor and Alfredo Morelos also out of contract in May. Kent’s situation is also wide open despite him having a leading role in the ranks in Glasgow.

Beale admitted after Sunday’s Scottish Cup win against Partick Thistle that Rangers are no closer to agreeing on a new contract with Kent. He had brought the former England Under-20 international on for the second half to mark the forward’s 35th appearance this season.
“There is no news on that at the moment,” Beale stated, via quotes by The Scotsman. “No news whatsoever at the moment. When there is, we will update everybody.”

Beale is confident of convincing Kent to sign a new contract at Rangers
In private, though, Beale is confident of convincing Kent to sign a new contract at Rangers. The forward has scored three goals and assisted eight during his 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season. He has scored two and assisted two goals in 12 with Beale.
Beale is also yet to tackle a Premiership fixture without Kent in his starting line-up. So, it is no surprise that he would want to keep the winger Steven Gerrard paid Liverpool £7.5m to sign back in 2019. Giovanni van Bronckhorst once lauded Kent for his ‘incredible’ speed, as well.
Brendan Rodgers also admires what Kent has given Rangers since penning an £18k-a-week contract until 2023 upon his permanent arrival. 90min reported the Leicester City manager considered a swoop for the winger in the January transfer window. So, he may move again.
