It’s no wonder Michael Beale was excited about this transfer window as the Rangers manager set about rebuilding a squad in serious need of repair.
The Gers gaffer might have said that it wasn’t as broken as some suggested but actions have spoken louder than those early words.
Chris Jack, writing for The Herald, has clarified just how much Michael Beale has been backed by the Rangers board and expectations will be high on an immediate return.

There will be no time to settle for the 42-year old.
He has been here before, knows Scottish football, the expectations and the idiosyncracies that make it unique.
He also knows the demands at Rangers.
Win, whatever it takes.
Michael Beale has to hit the ground running with Rangers
Jack explains how Michael Beale is seen by those in charge as the man to lead a return to the top for Rangers:
“The backing that Beale has received speaks volumes about the trust that (John) Bennett and (James) Bisgrove have in him as a man and a manager and the Englishman could not have asked for more at this stage.
“Nine players have been signed and around £13million invested in his forward line as he has ripped it up and started again in a manner that mirrors his first stint at Ibrox alongside Steven Gerrard.”

In short, there are no excuses.
It is his squad, his players and he still has a core of players who have won the league at a canter too.
It’s easy to say with hindsight but if Steven Gerrard had been backed to the same extent, he probably wouldn’t have left and Rangers would have retained their title, securing automatic Champions League football in the process.
It looks like the new board are addressing the mistakes that have been made previously, now, it’s over to the manager to deliver what he promised when he first arrived.
