Rangers are chasing Feyenoord striker Danilo but Michael Beale has hinted at other mystery targets to bolster his attack.
Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United on Tuesday night as the Magpies travelled up for Allan McGregor’s testimonial.
The really positive news is that Sam Lammers bagged an Ibrox goal, slotting home to bring Rangers level at 1-1.
Lammers is one of three attacking signings for Rangers this summer with Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers also arriving.
Rangers still want one more forward though having sold Antonio Colak to Parma last week.
The key target appears to be Feyenoord striker Danilo – and Gers boss Beale has admitted he wants the Brazilian.
Beale has told the Daily Record that Rangers like Danilo but dropped an interesting hint by claiming that Rangers are talking to other forwards too.
“He’s a player we like,” said Beale on Danilo. “I think a lot of people like him. He’s not the only forward we’re talking to – that seems to be the one that’s been let out. It’s been more public, but there’s no news on it,” he added.
Danilo to Rangers state of play
Rangers chased Danilo earlier in the summer and made an offer for him in late June according to Feyenoord-based website 1908.NL.
The move went cold as Rangers ironically signed a former Feyenoord striker in Dessers.
Yet with Colak gone, Rangers are back in again and hoping to strike a deal.
The Daily Record reported earlier this week that Danilo is asking Feyenoord to let him go to Rangers.

A £6million price tag is thought to be on Danilo’s head just a year since Feyenoord snapped him up on a free transfer from Ajax.
The ball is now in Rangers’ court but Beale is now hinting at eyeing up other forwards.
Maybe that is a trick from Beale in the hope that it would pressurise Feyenoord into selling, but Rangers will surely have multiple targets.
Josh Maja is a popular name in the mix, whilst there have been links to Haji Wright and Joel Piroe, which felt a little lofty given their price tags.
Danilo seems to be Beale’s number one target right now and Rangers will hope for progress very soon.
