Ally McCoist has suggested that Rangers made a mistake allowing Jamie Murphy to leave the club for Hibernian earlier this summer.
The 31-year-old winger joined the Hibees in August on a loan deal that will become permanent in the summer.

He’s since made two appearances for the Edinburgh club and won praise from Jack Ross for his efforts in their 3-0 win at St Mirren last weekend [Not The Old Firm].
Speaking on commentary duty for Sky Sports as Rangers drew 2-2 with Hibernian at Easter Road, McCoist questioned the transfer decision.
“I’m not convinced that he [Murphy] is not a better option than Jones on the left side,” said Rangers’ record all-time goalscorer.
Murphy was ineligible for Sunday’s game due to the terms of his loan deal but Jordan Jones was left on the bench even as the visitors chased a late winner.

McCoist believes Rangers may have made a mistake by letting Jamie Murphy join Hibernian – Verdict
Murphy scored the first goal of the Steven Gerrard era at Rangers and was a popular figure amongst the supporters during his time at Ibrox.
Some believed he had done enough to earn another shot at the first team this season after recovering from a bad knee injury and scoring seven goals during a brief loan spell at Burton Albion.
Yet, Gerrard deemed him surplus to requirements and Hibs were delighted to pick him up for nothing.
It must be said, though, that the Gers boss is hardly showing more trust in Jones than he did in Murphy.
The ex-Killie speedster hasn’t helped himself at times since joining the club but even though he is fully fit and has now made the matchday squad on three occasions this season, he is yet to receive a minute of playing time.
