Rangers were credited with an interest in Matija Frigan before the transfer window opened and they will have to move fast if he is still a target.
The 20-year old HNK Rijeka striker is one of Croatia’s hottest prospects and as one of his country’s top goalscorers, it’s easy to see why Michael Beale is a fan.
According to Sportske, an offer has been made, but not by Rangers for Matija Frigan, but by Sunderland.

A bid in the region of €4m (£3.4m) is claimed to have been made with Antonio Colak’s old team wanting €6m (£5.1m), the number that Rangers were said to have offered only for the players’ agent to deny it.
This is the sort of money that has been spent on Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers so it isn’t a surprise that Rangers were keeping tabs on the Croatian youth international.
Why have Rangers been linked with Matija Frigan?
There appears to have been three different lists of attacker that Rangerd have been monitoring.
The experienced number nine with Dessers, Josh Maja and Michael Olunga.
The promising number nine that saw Petar Ratkov, Benie Traore and Frigan watched.

The wide attacker/verstatile forward where Luis Palma seemed to be the first choice only for Abdallah Sima to arrive.
Any more additions to the forward line, you would think, will be dependent on players moving in the opposite direction.
Players like Scott Wright, Rabbi Matondo and Antonio Colak might see their playing time limited by the new additions and not all of them would have to be replaced if they were to be sold.
Colak, in particular, is the player that you would expect to have to leave for another striker to come in.
With Lammers and Dessers at peak age though, Rangers might look to bring in a promising player who can learn his trade without the pressure of being first choice.
Danilo looks like the favourite for Rangers but, with Matija Frigan still available, we could do an awful lot worse – if the price is right.
