Martyn Waghorn left Ibrox in August 2017, to join Ipswich Town. The Gers received a not inconsiderable £990k for the forward, who netted 27 league goals during his time in Glasgow.
However, almost exactly a year after arriving at Portman Road, he was off again.
This time, to Derby County, for a whopping £5 million. That was after notching a commendable 16 goals in the Championship during the previous season.

The stats would suggest not.
He has made 21 appearances and scored four times, so far. Yet, only two of those strikes have come in the league.
It represents a relatively meagre return for a player who commanded such a fee.

Clearly, he remains very much in manager, Frank Lampard’s plans, though.
Waghorn has appeared in each of the Rams’ last five matches, albeit twice from the bench.
