Micky Mellon has expressed his delight after promising Rangers winger Josh McPake signed for Tranmere Rovers on loan.
McPake spent the first half of the season at Morecambe in EFL League One.

However, he only made seven appearances for the Shrimps, mainly due to injury problems, and was recalled by Rangers around the turn of the year.
Now, he’s returned to England, and has dropped down to the fourth tier.
Tranmere announced his arrival on loan until the end of the season on Wednesday afternoon and ex-Dundee United boss Mellon thinks the signing is a real coup.
“We’re delighted to sign Josh,” he said [Tranmererovers.co.uk]. “We need as many options as possible to try and win games and Josh brings us that. He’s a very talented lad and we’re very pleased that Rangers have allowed him to come to us.”
“Building relationships with clubs like Rangers is one way we believe we can keep moving things forward.
“He’s played for Scotland at all levels except senior level and Rangers rate him very very highly. He comes into a group which is building strong foundations and we want to keep adding to that and strengthening that.”

McPake himself is also chuffed with the move.
“I’m absolutely delighted to join the club,” he said [Tranmererovers.co.uk]. “I’ve met everyone and got to know everyone so far so I’m really excited.
“I just want to get out and play games so to get the deal done as early as possible helps a lot. It’s a massive club and the fan base was a major factor in my decision as well as the promotion push that we’re on. The Club is going in the right direction so it was an easy choice.”
This is a decent move for McPake after a difficult first half of the season and he’ll be looking to get off to a good start at Prenton Park.
He could make his debut on Saturday afternoon when Tranmere take on strugglers Scunthorpe United at home.
