There is late transfer interest in Rangers winger Brandon Barker from ‘unexpected quarters’ according to journalist Alan Nixon of The Sun.
Barker spent the second half of last season out on loan at Oxford United, scoring three goals and notching four assists in 22 appearances.

However, he doesn’t appear to have done enough to break back into manager Steven Gerrard’s plans.
The 24-year-old had a disrupted pre-season and hasn’t made the matchday squad for any of Rangers’ fixtures since competitive action got underway.
Earlier on deadline day, Football Insider reported that Barker had been told he was free to find a new club and now, Nixon has suggested that an exit may be possible.
The journalist tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that there is ‘a bit of late interest’ from ‘unexpected quarters’ in both Barker and Hull City striker Tom Eaves.
No additional details are given, so it’s unclear whether or not the interested party would be looking to sign Barker permanently or take him on loan.

Late window exit for Barker?
Barker hasn’t managed to establish himself at Ibrox since his move from Man City in the summer of 2019, scoring three goals and failing to notch an assist in 26 appearances for the Light Blues.
There’s no doubt he has plenty of talent, but a lack of consistency and injuries have held him back and the likes of Ryan Kent and Scott Wright are ahead of him in the pecking order.
He was one of five players we picked out recently who could leave Ibrox before the window closes and if he does seal a move, it’ll be interesting to see where to.
